"Our journey as a couple has been a prime example of God pouring out His grace and provision. This has come mainly through our relationship with Paul and Carly..."

Often God provides for our needs in the most unexpected, yet profound ways. It is in moments of uncertainty and change that He often shows Himself to be the most loving and gracious; our story is no different. Our journey as a couple has been a prime example of God pouring out His grace and provision. This has come mainly through our relationship with Paul and Carly. We truly believe God brought these two into our lives when we needed it most. As an engaged pair, we really felt called to find a married couple who would walk along side of us on our path to marriage. Paul and Carly not only offered to be that couple, but they were willing to transparently mentor us through challenging conversations and tough topics. They quickly became one of the biggest blessings during our engagement.  Being engaged is no easy task. In fact, the engagement period is a barren desert when it comes to resources. It seems as though Christian writers have focused heavily on the dating period or on marriage and have left engaged couples to blindly fend for themselves. Our story would have been no different if it were not for God’s loving provision through the life and ministry of the Paul and Carly in our lives.

The greatest advice we can give any engaged couple is to seek out guidance and support from a married couple with a few more years under their belts! When we first sat down with Paul and Carly, we didn’t know what to talk about, what we needed advice on, or what to ask. But we knew that they would listen, encourage, and push us towards truth in our relationship with each other and ultimately God. What makes Paul and Carly’s premarital counselling different than most is the husband and wife team work; they built off each other and as a result we both felt comfortable and understood. Not only do we consider Paul and Carly mentors and role models, but friends.

"What makes Paul and Carly's premarital counseling different than most is the husband and wife team work..."

"As [Paul and Carly] helped mediate between us... they were able to offer us Godly advice that allowed us to repair our relationship."

We met Paul and Carly in college and became fast, close friends. While we were engaged, we had an experience that nearly shattered our relationship. Paul and Carly came to us with comfort and advice. We weren’t seeking counseling, just a friendly shoulder to cry on and a friendly ear that would listen. Little did we know that God would use them in a profound way to help show us our sin and guide us back to Him. We never felt anything but the love of God from these two. No judgment or disappointment; just honesty and encouragement. As they helped mediate between us and spoke with us both individually and as a couple, they were able to offer us Godly advice that allowed us to repair our relationship. Had they not been there, we likely would not be celebrating our sixth year of marriage and our second child.
